move-in weekend is packed with fun activities and events! we kick-off the weekend with convocation, where guest speakers present and welcome new students to campus. throughout the weekend we host a variety of events, including but not limited to a variety of entertainers, a welcome picnic, fireworks and an outdoor movie, karaoke and game nights, comedy shows, and open mics!

find the bear: at the beginning of the academic year, we host the find the bear challenge! all students are invited to keep up with the clues, posted daily on both facebook and in the student union dining court, in order to find a plaque with max c. bear on it, which is hidden somewhere around campus. the winner of the challenge receives $300 toward spring textbooks and school supplies from the college store!

first saturday: over 80 businesses downtown open their doors and offer fabulous deals and giveaways for both suny potsdam and clarkson university students during first saturday, an event that is hosted on the first saturday of the semester. downtown market street is turned into a block party, where student a cappella, dance, and music groups perform, and club and organizations host various games. students who go to eight or more businesses have a chance to win up to $100!

winterfest: Departments and student clubs across campus help to kick off the Spring semester by hosting two weeks full of fun events! These events include but are not limited to Bear Pride Night/Student Organization Spirit Night, which is a chance to demonstrate your school spirit at one of the scheduled sports games, skiing/snowshoeing trips with Venture Outdoors, a variety of entertainers, the Canoe Swamp, the Glow Ball Dance & VIP Reception, and many more activities!
